Guv, CM lay foundation of Narmadanchal Vidyapeeth

Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the new campus and hostel of Narmadanchal Vidyapeeth in Bargaon, Dindori district. They also unveiled a new ghat and stair construction on the Silgi river and inspected a gaushala, an under-construction school, and a hostel. The construction of Narmadanchal Vidyapeeth School and hostel is being funded by South East Coldfield Ltd Bilaspur at a cost of approximately Rs. 18 crore. Additionally, the governor and chief minister inaugurated an aids distribution camp for differently-abled individuals and distributed motorized tricycles to divyangs. They also visited the Siddha Maharaj temple to offer prayers.

Speaking at the event, Governor Patel praised the tribal welfare center in Bargaon for its continuous contribution to societal development. He commended the academic standards and management of Narmadanchal Vidyapeeth. The governor encouraged tribal people to participate in the sickle cell eradication program and undergo screening for sickle cell disease. He also called for their support in eradicating tuberculosis by 2025 and sickle cell disease by 2047.

Chief Minister Chouhan visited the gaushala and noticed the planting of Peepal trees for environmental preservation, which act as oxygen banks. He highlighted the center’s objective of providing quality education, physical and mental development, and instilling moral values in students. Chouhan emphasized that social service is crucial for women empowerment and the elimination of social problems. He expressed appreciation for the center’s efforts in connecting people with India’s ancient culture and called for public cooperation in this noble work.

Union Minister of State for Steel and Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste and other dignitaries were also present at the event.

Earlier, Chouhan emphasized the importance of women as a form of goddess and stated that when women are happy, society prospers. He mentioned initiatives such as the Ladli Laxmi and Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Nikah Yojana aimed at empowering women and changing the perception that they are a burden. Chouhan also highlighted reservation provisions for women in panchayat and urban body elections and special concessions for women in property ownership. He mentioned the implementation of the “Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana” to improve the lives of women.

Chouhan virtually participated in mass marriage ceremonies organized under the “Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Nikah Yojana” in Janpad Panchayat Ranapur of Jhabua district and Janpad Panchayat Gaurihar of Jhabua and Chhatarpur districts. He extended his best wishes to the 217 couples from Ranapur, 195 couples from Jhabua, and 310 couples from Gaurihar. Chouhan blessed the newlyweds and encouraged them to nurture love, honor, and prestige in their families while contributing to the welfare of society.
